Morning

I love the subject I teach. I love my job. I love my living quarters. I love everything about this school. Except for whoever is breaking into various living quarters and damaging Professors' property!

Oh, it's high time I sought out Severus or Filius for a bit of advice on protecting my trap door. It's so obvious, the outline of it I mean. Right above my office door, with the chord dangling down (well, I'm not exactly tall) At least it has an invisibility charm on it, but that doesn't prevent students from feeling it, now does it?

Well, my third years were pleasant this morning. I do get ever so frustrated with them at times, when they are just beginning to grasp Arithmancy..or not grasping it, in come cases. But today I went easy with them. Gave them back their Gist Of the Number One essays (that all came out rather good, I'm very pleased) and read a bit from the book. No homework for today. Why? Because <strike>I'm not in the mood</strike> I don't have time to grade more papers.

So it's off to lunch for me. My, it seems like I haven't actually eaten down there in days.

Popping by..

Oh, Sundays are ever so boring. I did wash up and take a walk, around the lake and past the Quidditch pitch, and then back to my little tower room. Almost slipped on that daggon ladder on my way up. Really, I do wish my living quarters weren't right above my classroom. What if a student accidentally found the chord that pulls the ladder down? Ah, no matter. I wouldn't want to move anyhow, I'm settled in quite nicely up here.

Anyhow, I've finished grading the essays I've been meaning to get done for some time, and am happy to inform you Miss Granger, that you did very well indeed, as always. You'll be getting those back during the next class.

Just waking up..

Well, as if we hadn't had enough excitement already, teachers and other staff were made to attend another party. Another one! And there I was, thinking I could get in a cup of tea and a nice chat with Raithen and Silvia before heading back to bed, when, pah! We're reminded of yet another event. Was it really necessary? I don't think it was, and I think that quite a few of the other staff side with me.

But it wasn't all that bad. At least there was butterbeer, and Albus with his damned candy. Really, he should know better than to offer me any sort of sweets. I'm worse than a child when it comes to candy! And I think I ate just a tad too much. Atkins who? Waistline what?

So I did eventually get to sleep. Much, much too late for my liking. And I've woken up only just now. Completely missed breakfast. Hmph. I've sent for some toast and tea to get rid of my grogginess.

Then I think I'll wash up and head down for an afternoon walk. Yes, sounds lovely.

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Well, I must say the ball was quite a bit more enjoyable than I had originally thought it would be. Filius did a wonderful job of decorating as usual. The music was much better than it had been at our last few formal occasions, as was the punch. So, that counts for something I suppose. Though, to be honest, I am more of a Butterbeer type person.

On my way up I caught two couples locking lips behind suits of armor, and surprisingly went against my authoritative instincts and did not deduct any points. It /is/ Valentines Day, after all.

Well, the sandman knocks at my door and is begging to be let in. I don't have the power to deny him a second longer. Good night to you all.
